The "free samples" and videos and CDs your upline encourages you to purchase aren't free to you.
The hotel meetings you are told to take your prospects to edify your leaders and reduce you to "go-fer" status.
Three-way calls make you dependent upon your upline's availability and capacity to close transactions for you and your credibility takes a hike.

Do you know that when you introduce your business to others leading with the "money potential" of this opportunity only serves to frustrate both you and your prospects?

I don't understand Sylvia, this is what my company and my upline leaders are doing and they are making good money.

Ok, I will give you two reasons why:

 You see because your upline leaders are making the money, they can afford to talk about the money potential but for you the new distributor, you will edify those leaders above you when you bring prospects to these hotel room meetings. This action alone can destroy your credibility and worse yet makes you a cog in a wheel - their wheel.
When those new recruits in your downline fail to generate some money, they quit on you and move on to the next "big thing" leaving you to hang dry after all the efforts you put to get them into your business.

How can these "techniques" possibly help you grow a business? Well, they can't.

Another fact is that MLM isn't an industry - it's a compensation plan. Network marketing is in the retail industry and you've chosen to fore-go immediate income for residual income. Retailers can take 3-5 years to seed and to grow. Not to say it can't happen faster in network marketing, but you certainly can't get there in 30 to 50 days.
